Tuscany Siena 11-18 July Empty
PostSubject: Tuscany Siena 11-18 July   Tuscany Siena 11-18 July EmptyThu Apr 30, 2009 11:04 am

Hi,
we have rented a house close to Siena July 11-18, and would like to visit some vineyards in the area. We are travelling with a child (approx 2 years old).

* Any suggestions what to visit approx 1-2 hours driving from Siena?
* Should we make arrangements with wineyards up front, or just drop by?
* What time of day (not lunch time I understand )

Best regards,
Torbjorn from Oslo, Norway

Hi Torbjorn,
You will be staying central to some really interesting wine regions such as Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti Classico, and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Unless you want to do proper wine tours within specific wineries, you can definitely just pop in a lot of different wineries along the way. It's good to do a little research before you go so that you have an idea of what wineries might interest you the most.
Most wineries are open Monday to Friday in the mornings and in the afternoons. Lunch time is good to avoid.
My best,
Rebecca
